When the traditional phenolic antioxidant contacts with the nitrogen and oxygen gas in the air, it produces quinone structure. Qinone structure is the root cause for yellowing and getting red.
Phosphite antioxidant is also widely used as an excellent auxiliary antioxidant. However, with the continuous improvement of EU environmental protection standards, the requirements of phosphite antioxidant are becoming higher and higher. Phosphite antioxidant needs to be more environmentally friendly, non-toxic, non-phenolic, hydrolysis resistant, and resist higher temperature.
Phosphite auxiliary antioxidant is one of the most active polymer stabilization additives in the 1990s. In decade, new structure varieties emerge in endlessly, but by their chemical structure, we can find that the new structure of phosphite most contain substituent aromatic ring, and mostly are pentaerythritol diphosphite spiral ring structure and bisphenol phosphite ester structure. It means that the phosphate ester auxiliary antioxidant technology development should focus on two aspects: how to improve machining stability and how to improve the hydrolytic stability.
Our non-phenolic antioxidant -AN333&AN340, does not contain phenolic structure, so it can effectively avoid the yellowing problem caused by quinone structure. The processing temperature can be above 180℃, and it has been applied in PU, PVC and other fields by many customers in and abroad.
Among them, AN333 has been proved to act excellently in PU foaming materials, with excellent yellowing resistance and good hydrolysis resistance. It is the best substitute of JOHOKU Chemical JP333E.
