How to improve the UV aging resistance of photovoltaic film?

Photovoltaic packaging materials mainly include EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer), POE (polyolefin), PVB (polyvinyl butyral) encapsulant film. Photovoltaic encapsulants are placed in the glass of photovoltaic modules and in solar cells or backsheets to encapsulate and protect solar cells and isolate air.

Photovoltaic adhesive film needs to be exposed to sunlight, rain, ice and snow or dust for a long time, and the working environment is relatively harsh, which puts forward higher requirements for its weather resistance. In addition, water vapor and high temperature will also cause the volume resistivity of the adhesive film to decrease and accelerate the corrosion of the cell, further leading to the attenuation and aging of photovoltaic modules. Taking EVA photovoltaic adhesive as an example, under the action of light, heat, oxygen, moisture and other factors at the same time, EVA will hydrolyze to produce acetic acid, and the reaction of acetic acid with sodium salt in glass can cause sodium ion migration resulting in potential induced attenuation, and the attenuation rate can be as high as 50% in severe cases.

By adding suitable ultraviolet absorbers and other modifiers, the photoaging resistance of photovoltaic adhesive film can be effectively improved, and the work efficiency of photovoltaic devices can be maintained, so as to achieve real environmental protection and efficiency!

YIHOO UV312 is a oxanilide-based ultraviolet absorber with low volatility, excellent thermal stability, and excellent compatibility with photovoltaic materials. UV312 itself has low chromaticity and high transmittance in the visible light band, which does not affect the color and transparency of photovoltaic glue. This greatly reduces the loss of sunlight when it passes through the adhesive film, avoids the decline in light volume, and improves the overall efficiency of photovoltaic devices. It is worth mentioning that the effect of UV312 is not weakened even in weakly acidic formulations.

YIHOO UV1164 belongs to the hydroxybenzine triazine (HPT) class ultraviolet absorber, which has efficient absorption capacity for UVA and UVB band ultraviolet rays. Its high molecular weight and excellent migration resistance make it particularly suitable for material components that require high weather resistance and work in harsh environments. UV1164 can fully block the sensitive UV band of photovoltaic adhesive, thereby preventing hydrolysis and photoaging degradation of the adhesive film.

 

The above ultraviolet absorbers and our HALS light stabilizers and hindered phenolic antioxidants will further improve the weather resistance of photovoltaic adhesives and extend their service life.
