    Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is FR 8275 and what does it consist of?
FR 8275 is a high-efficiency pre-compounded flame-retardant formulation made from a blend of Decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE) and antimony trioxide (Sb₂O₃) in a 75:25 or 67:33 ratio. The combination leverages the synergistic effect between the brominated compound and the antimony-based co-additive to deliver superior flame-retardant performance.
Q Which plastic and polymer materials is FR 8275 compatible with?
FR 8275 is compatible with a wide range of engineering and commodity plastics, including ABS, PA, PP, PBT, PE, PC, PS, PVC, PET, LCP, HIPS, PPO, PPS, EPS, EVA, TPU, and other polyolefin composites. It is also suitable for use in wire and cable insulation, elastomers, and thermoset plastics.
Q Is FR 8275 compliant with the European Dioxin Directive?
Yes. FR 8275 does not emit harmful polybrominated dibenzo-p-dioxins (DBDO) or polybrominated dibenzofurans (BDBDF) during processing or combustion. End products incorporating FR 8275 fully meet the requirements of the European Dioxin Directive, making it an environmentally responsible choice for flame-retardant applications.
Q What are the key performance advantages of FR 8275?
FR 8275 offers several outstanding performance characteristics: excellent thermal stability (melting point ≥ 340 °C), high bromine content for effective flame suppression, outstanding UV resistance, very low migration tendency in polymer matrices, and virtual insolubility in all common solvents — ensuring long-term durability and reliability in finished products.
Q What industries and end products is FR 8275 most commonly used in?
FR 8275 is particularly well-suited for the electronics and electrical appliance industries. Typical applications include flame-retardant components for computers, fax machines, telephones, copiers, and a wide range of household appliances. It is also used in wire and cable sheathing and insulation for construction and industrial sectors.
Q What packaging options are available for FR 8275?
FR 8275 is available in three packaging options to suit different order volumes: 25 kg per bag for smaller quantities, 500 kg per bag for mid-scale orders, and 1,000 kg per bag for bulk industrial procurement. Custom packaging arrangements may be available upon request.
