China PVC Polymerization & Modification Additives - Leading Suppliers & Factory for High-Quality Materials
Product Description
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a polymer of vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) polymerized by peroxide, azo compounds and other initiators or by free radical polymerization reaction mechanism under the action of light and heat. Vinyl chloride homopolymer and vinyl chloride copolymer are called vinyl chloride resin.
PVC used to be the largest general-purpose plastic in the world and was widely used. It is widely used in building materials, industrial products, daily necessities, floor leather, floor bricks, artificial leather, pipes, wires and cables, packaging film, bottles, foaming materials, sealing materials, fibers and so on.
⚠️ Key Properties & Stability Notes
PVC is an amorphous structure of white powder, with a low branching degree. Its glass transition temperature is 77–90°C, and it begins to decompose at 170°C. It has poor stability to light and heat — it will decompose and produce hydrogen chloride at above 100°C or after prolonged sun exposure, causing discoloration and a decline in physical and mechanical properties. In practical applications, stabilizers or other additives must be added to improve PVC stability.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q
What is PVC and how is it produced?
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is a polymer produced by polymerizing vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) using peroxide or azo compound initiators, or via free radical polymerization under light and heat. The resulting vinyl chloride homo- and co-polymers are collectively referred to as vinyl chloride resin.
Q
What are the main application areas of PVC?
PVC is one of the most widely used general-purpose plastics in the world. Key application areas include building materials (pipes, cables, floor tiles), packaging (films, bottles), industrial products (artificial leather, foaming and sealing materials), as well as daily necessities and specialty fibers.
Q
Why do PVC products require stabilizers or additives?
PVC has poor thermal and light stability. At temperatures above 100°C or under prolonged sun exposure, it decomposes and releases hydrogen chloride gas, causing discoloration and deterioration of mechanical properties. Stabilizers and other additives are therefore essential to maintain product quality and extend service life.
Q
What types of antioxidants are available for PVC applications?
The company offers several antioxidant grades for PVC: YIHOO AN245DW (equivalent to SONOX 2450DW) for styrene, rubber, POM, PU, PA, PET, MBS, and PVC; YIHOO AN333 (equivalent to JP333E), a phenol-free auxiliary heat stabilizer that improves color and transparency; and YIHOO HP136, which regenerates phenolic antioxidants and is suited for high-temperature processing applications.
Q
What other polymer additive product lines does the company offer?
Beyond PVC additives, the company provides a comprehensive range of polymer additive series, including PA polymerization & modification additives, PU foaming additives, PC additives, TPU elastomer additives, low VOC automotive trim additives, textile finishing agents, coating additives, cosmetics additives, API, and specialty chemicals such as zeolite.
Q
How can I request product samples or technical information?
You are welcome to contact the company directly for product inquiries, technical datasheets, sample requests, or customized additive recommendations. The team is available to assist with matching the right additive solution for your specific application needs.
